A Place To Let The Cloud Debate Continue
December 2nd, 2009 By AdministratorCSC recently sponsored a debate at The Economist on the topic of trust in cloud computing. Obviously, this is a topic we’re very interested in as providers of Trusted Cloud Services.
So, although the voting on the motion has closed, we encourage you to give it a look. It’s worth browsing the opinions of so many and diverse professional men and women. There is also a section with the CSC position.
What’s more, we hope this debate can continue here at TrustedCloudServices.com as a conversation, in a spirit of inquiry, with a goal of arriving at and capturing the value inherent in this disruptive IT innovation.
This is a conversation that’s going on in many places across the web, and here are some more you might find interesting:
An article at Infoworld.com gives more background to The Economist cloud debate, which included position statements from Salesforce.com Chairman and CEO Marc Benioff and Microsoft Business Division President Stephen Elop.
A response at the ZDnet blog comes with the cheeky headline, “Can the Economist entirely be trusted?”
Twitter provided an interesting, real-time look at both sides of sentiment on the cloud debate.
If you’re on LinkedIn, too, there have been plenty of recent conversation threads about cloud computing:
“Do you use Salesforce.com? How do you feel about it?“
“What is the main motivating factor for corporations to adopt SaaS?“
“What is the difference between cloud computing and software-as-a-service?“
“Cloud Computing: Believe the hype? Is virtualization the end-game?“
If you missed the chance to offer your opinion or ask a question during the Economist debate, we hope you’ll take the opportunity to add it to the dialogue here. We look forward to your comments.
