CSC And Symantec Partnership Expands Security Offerings
April 13th, 2010 By AdministratorIn building a best-of-breed partner ecosystem of cloud computing service offerings, CSC has benefited from a strong relationship with Symantec, a global leader in security solutions. That’s the kind of partner it takes to offer Trusted Cloud Services.
Now that partnership is expanding, and CSC has announced today the extension of its current technology alliance with Symantec, an evolution in cloud services that will bring enhanced security products to businesses and governments around the world.
As more data and business processes move to the cloud to take advantage of rapid time-to-market or application implementation, cost efficiencies or improved agility, security concerns — one of the initial stumbling blocks that has kept highly regulated or sensitive data and applications from adopting cloud computing IT solutions — have become the focus of scrutiny.
“Symantec’s 2010 State of Enterprise Security study revealed that 75 percent of organizations experienced cyber-attacks in the past 12 months and these attacks cost businesses an average of $2 million per year,” Greg Hughes, president, Enterprise Products Group, Symantec, said in the press release on the partnership. “Together, Symantec and CSC will offer industry-leading security products, including trusted cloud services combined with proven professional services to help customers protect their most critical information from today’s complex threats while effectively managing cost and complexity.”
Since initially partnering with Symantec, CSC has offered its data loss prevention and related security products to enterprise clients. This new, expanded partnership will bring Symantec Hosted Services into the portfolio of CSC Trusted Cloud Services.
In this video clip, Brian Boruff, Vice President of Emerging Markets in CSC’s Global Sales and Marketing, talks about the next generation of cloud capabilities and how they are building strategic value for businesses across all industries.
CSC and Symantec made the announcement today at the Symantec Vision 2010 conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event continues through Thursday.
