Meet Up With CSC At Cloud Conferences
April 5th, 2010 By AdministratorGlobal team members from CSC Trusted Cloud Services have booked a busy schedule of upcoming cloud computing conferences and events — but that’s what it takes to keep the conversation going.
Decision-makers in search of insight to clear confusion on the implications of cloud models and solutions and how to get the most value out of transitioning their organization’s IT infrastructure and services to the cloud will do well to catch up with CSC Director of Global Security Solutions Ron Knode and VP of Cloud Computing and Emerging Markets Brian Boruff at two events this month.
First up is the Symantec Vision 2010 conference in Las Vegas from April 12-15. Although it might not be as flamboyant as the keynote address by Bear Grylls, star of Discovery Channel’s “Man vs. Wild,” Ron Knode will be delivering a presentation entitled “Into the Cloud With Digital Trust.”
Knode has been a driving force in developing the standards that will bring transparency to cloud computing models, and as he writes in his abstract:
CSC’s Trusted Cloud Services are built within a broader set of Orchestration Core services known as CloudTrust Protocol (CTP). CSC’s CTP extends the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Department of Defense sponsored Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) as a packaging and expression technique for some of the elements of transparency.
Knode is scheduled to speak on April 13, and Boruff is tentatively scheduled to appear at the event, as well. Although we can’t publish the details just yet, you can also expect a big announcement from CSC at the Symantec conference.
Both of the CSC Trusted Cloud Services executives will also be at Cloud Expo East in New York City from April 19-21. Boruff is scheduled to speak as part of a “power panel” among other IT industry luminaries.
In recent interviews, Boruff has been emphasizing the best-in-class partner ecosystem that CSC has been developing. “We’re not going to outspend Microsoft or Google on building data centers,” he said last week. “But we do have a world-class network of partners, and we’re the trusted place for our customers to go move to ‘the right cloud, the right way.’”
Knode will be delivering a version of his presentation on digital trust adapted for the East Coast cloud conference. If you can’t make it to either of his talks, you can read up on his Leading Edge Forum research paper, Digital Trust In The Cloud.
