Anyone flying into Australia recently has been welcomed by CSC — and a host of large cats.

Have no fear, these leopard-themed advertisements are part of this quarter’s push to raise awareness in Asia and the Pacific (APAC) about the maturing offerings and benefits that come from IT virtualisation. And their big splash is just a hint at the events that will play out this month.

Specifically geared toward Australian organizations, the Virtualisation Maturity Survey looks at factors such as size, industry and process requirements to begin matching the offerings that best suit each enterprise.

The survey can also be found on the recently launched cloud portal to CSC Australia’s website.

On Feb. 12, CSC Australia will host a “Day In The Clouds” briefing with media and analysts. Look for coverage following that event, which already has confirmed attendance from IDC, Gartner, Ovum and more. Representing CSC, attendees will be able to meet with Nick Wilkinson, Bob Hayward, Jim Naumovski, Lem Lasher, Sonia Eland and Trusted CloudVision expert Gordon Archibald.

Then on Feb. 16, CSC and AICD are scheduled to host a Viewpoint Roundtable entitled “Cap-ex vs. Op-ex: A New Business Model On The Horizon.” Supporting coverage of the dialogue is expected to be featured in the April issue of Company Director magazine.

And on Feb. 26, look for a copy of MIS Magazine, which is scheduled to run a sponsored feature on cloud computing. Along with MIS and Fairfax, CSC is currently conducting research to further develop our POV on cloud offerings, and we’ll be sharing the results of that research at CTIO breakfast meetings with our partners.
