Yesterday afternoon, during day two of VMWorld 2010, Siki Giunta, Global VP Cloud Computing and Jay Noble, Director Cloud Computing, presented on Actual Cloud – Value on Demand. Siki commented that CSC believes that all clouds (public, community, hybrid, and private) should all be multi-tenant with all vectors employed. Those vectors are agility, price advantage, access, elasticity. As well as, security, specialization, SLA, and control.

Jay then went into how CSC’s CloudLab and CloudExchange employ all these vectors. CloudExchange features reliable mail and collaboration delivered as a service with the rich feature set of Exchange 2010 but without the overhead. CloudLab features on-demand scalable, virtualized infrastructure with automation technology to improve collaboration and workflow.

To learn more about Siki and Jay’s presentation, stop by Booth 1014 for demos and cloud assessments. Also be sure to check out Siki and Peter Allen, President Global Sales & Marketing, present on Business Transformation - The Silver Lining in the Cloud, at 3pm today in Mascone North 135. A HD 3D TV will be given away to one lucky attendant.

CSC Announces New Email Cloud Security Solution

July 22nd, 2010 By Administrator

Email has long been a means and target for cybercriminals — whether the goal is to steal private data contained in messages, or just to use the messages to surreptitiously obtain access credentials that would open the door to other stores of data. Today, CSC has announced an offering that can help protect organizations from such cybersecurity threats. CSC’s CloudProtection for Mail and Web provides security from web-based attacks, stopping the threat before it ever reaches the enterprise customer. CSC officials say that the cloud-based CloudProtection can improve an organization’s security at a lower cost than other on-premise solutions. The official CSC news release also notes their SLAs for the product, “the strongest sets of Service Level Agreements in the industry,” covering the service availability and performance. With CloudProtection, according to the release, every business can ensure that every desktop has the most up-to-date anti-virus software, spam filters and spyware.

An Intro From CSC’s New Cloud VP

May 6th, 2010 By Siki Giunta
an-intro-from-cscs-new-cloud-vp

A lot of people have been asking me why I joined CSC after 12 years running companies as a CEO, so I thought I would share my thinking. Those that know me know that I am very passionate about cloud computing. As I have blogged before, I believe that cloud is the fabric that will allow us to develop, build and deliver all the technology for the new generation of human beings that is growing up right now. Power, speed and availability are not even factors in the conversations of our youth. They are well assumed. It is expected that applications be as easy to use as a computer game.
